Zadar & Plitvice Lakes – July 2010

This time, not for the show, but for the kitten’s transport, I visited Croatia briefly. The new owners of little girl Infinity live in Zadar on the Croatian Adriatic coast.
In Croatian tourist brochures, this city is often put on a par with Dubrovnik and Venice.

On the way back from Zadar, I planned to see Plitvice Lakes – a complex of 16 karst lakes connected with each other by numerous waterfalls. In 1979, the Plitvice Lakes National Park was included in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage list. It is a frequently visited tourist attraction, several thousand people come here every day in the summer months. The park can be visited by several different routes, on which there are sections to be covered on foot, small passenger ships and road trains. The routes are prepared and marked so as to adjust their degree of difficulty to the individual needs of tourists: they take from 2 to 8 hours of hiking. I chose the 6.5 hour route. The hike brought unforgettable views of emerald lakes and a huge number of cascades and waterfalls.
